2018 Session Intake

Welcome back.

It's the time of the year where you, as a parent have to look for a suitable kindergarten to enrol your precious child for 2018 school session.

While you are searching for a kindergarten, I suggest a few points to look for in order to ensure that your child gets the most out of the centre. They are as follows:

  • Safety
  • Curriculum
  • Experience
  • Authenticity
  • Location
  • Cost
  • Comfort
We, Sri Gombak Montessori Kindergarten have been operating since 1995 at the same address - No. 2, Jalan SG 10/12, Taman Sri Gombak, 68100 Batu Caves! That is 23 years. We are registered with the Selangor Department of Education.

Our curriculum is a mixture of Montessori and Standard National Pre-school  Curriculum

WE DON'T CLAIM TO TEACH USING THE  MONTESSORI METHOD STRICTLY!

Your child will learn not only to read and write but also to think on their own. Another unique feature of our curriculum is that we also teach them to appreciate the environment so that your child will become a responsible citizen who will hold environmental stewardship as a high importance aspect of life. This is reflected in our mission statement (please see earlier posts). At our centre the children not only develop academically but also in term of mental, physical and physiological.

You are welcome to visit us for further information on our curriculum.

Our classes are not overcrowded - mostly abou 20 - 25 children per class. If at all a class gets bigger, some of the classrooms are easily enlarged due to flexible partitioning. Naturally the number of teachers will also be increased for larger classes. All our classes are equipped with air-conditioner and some even have an ionizer to clean the air.

Our fee is one of the lowest in this area and is approved by the Education Department. As a matter of fact, the Department suggseted that we increase some component of the fee! For example, our registration fee was very low that the officer in charge at Gombak Education Office actually suggested that we increase it.

If you trust us to educate your child, we are ever ready to render our services!

NOW WE ARE OPENED FOR REGISTRATION FOR THE 2018 SESSION.
YOU CAN CONTACT THE KINDERGARTEN AT 03-6185 6168.
OR YOU CAN TALK TO MRS. NATHAN AT 012-679 1155 OR KASINATHAN AT 010-231 6158.

Visi and Misi

One of the requirements by the Selangor Education Department for kindergartens is that they should have their Vision and Mission statements.

I kept putting aside the task of creating Visi and Misi for several years for one reason or another.... but mostly due to lack of interest in cranking the brain just to fulfill bureacratic requirement!

Finally, this year I sat and put on my thinking cap and walla! I got a Visi and Misi statements for Sri Gombak Montessori Kindergarten.

The statements are as follow:

How do you like that eh?

2017 Project: Zoological Garden

On 15 March 2017, we took 60 children to the Zoological Garden (Zoo Negara). We kicked off the project a month before and turned the simple excursion into a project.

First, there were songs with animal themes, which the teachers introduced to the children during music and movements period.

It was followed by art and craft sessions over several period whereby the children did wild life themed art and craft. the following were some of the art and craft output by the children.

A lion by Intermediate class children

 Elephant by KG Class children

Again, a monkey by Intermediate Class children

Model Zoo by Advance Class children

Display of KG and Intermediate Class children

On the day itself the children left the school at about 9 am. by a coach to the Zoo. Once inside the Zoo, there was the customary group photos.

Advance and Intermediate class opted to walk through the Zoo, while the KG children, being too young to walk were taken around with trams.

At the Giant Panda enclosure the children took group photos and each child was given a photo as a souvenier.

Later, the children were treated to a snack at a fast food centre within the Zoo compound.

Finally, the children were taken to the animal show before departing. It was a wonderful experience for the children.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2017 is here and today is second day of school. It was relatively uneventful as we had already conducted orientation programme on 28 and 29 December for the newcomers; specifically new 4 year olds.

Yesterday, on the very first day of school young Lim Yan Tong celebrated her 5th birhday; and today it was Tharanish Venkatash's 6th birthday celebration. We wish Yan Tong and Tharanish "many more happy returns of the day".

The following are some of the photos taken during the celebrations.
